Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our team. This role is suitable for candidates who are interested in developing their career in the interior fit-out and construction industry, with hands-on exposure to project costing, procurement, subcontractor management and cost control.

Candidates with relevant experience in interior fit-out or construction projects are preferred. Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related field

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, construction or interior fit-out projects is preferred

• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications and strong willingness to learn are welcome to apply

• Experience in interior fit-out, renovation or commercial/retail projects will be an advantage

• Good understanding of quantity take-off, costing, quotation comparison and cost control

• Familiar with variation orders, progress claims and subcontractor management

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office will be an added advantage

• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently

• Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills

• Able to communicate and write in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia

• Mandarin-speaking candidates are required as the role involves frequent communication with Mandarin-speaking clients, contractors and suppliers

• Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites when required

• Candidates who are able to start work immediately will have an added advantage

• Must have full working rights in Malaysia

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and review project cost estimates, quotations and budgets

• Prepare quantity take-offs, measurements and Bills of Quantities (BQ)

• Source, compare and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams on pricing and costing matters

• Monitor project costs, variations and material usage

• Prepare and evaluate variation orders, progress claims and payment certifications

• Assist in subcontractor and supplier negotiations

• Monitor project budget and identify potential cost overruns

• Maintain proper documentation, costing records and project-related reports

• Support the Project Manager and project team on commercial and contractual matters

• Carry out other QS and cost control duties as required
