Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Law or a recognized equivalent legal qualification.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of legal experience, ideally gained within an in-house fintech/financial services environment or through corporate/litigation practice.

Core Skills: Strong background in corporate drafting, contract negotiation, and reviewing complex commercial documents.

Industry Familiarity: Direct experience with payment or VASP licensing, AML/CTF rules (KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring), and interacting with financial regulators (such as ASIC or BNM) is a strong advantage.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively with regional stakeholders.

Mindset: Highly analytical, detail-oriented, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and equipped with a proactive, ownership-driven attitude.

Regulatory Compliance & Policy Management: Design, review, and maintain internal policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and compliance frameworks to meet international cross-border standards, focusing heavily on payments and VASP requirements.

Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of commercial contracts, including client agreements, vendor service contracts, distribution deals, and property leases.

Legal Research & Advisory: Investigate international laws covering cross-border licensing, trade, data privacy, and AML/CTF standards to guide business operations safely.

Regulatory Relations: Act as a primary liaison with external regulators, counsel, and service providers regarding license applications, corporate filings, and compliance maintenance.

Risk & Dispute Support: Provide proactive legal advice on internal audits, regulatory inquiries, potential disputes, and ad-hoc corporate projects.
