Key Responsibilities (Chargeman)
- Operate, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and installations such as switchboards, transformers, generators, and distribution panels.
- Perform routine inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance on all electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective actions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with Energy Commission regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, servicing schedules, and inspection logs.
- Monitor and manage power usage and ensure efficient energy consumption.
- Supervise contractors and site personnel during electrical-related work.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and ensure systems are restored safely and efficiently.
- Participate in audits, safety drills, and risk assessments as required.
- Liaise with authorities (e.g., Energy Commission, TNB) for inspections, renewals, or incident reports.
Job Requirements
- Possess a valid Chargeman Certificate (BO/B4/A4/A1) from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).
- Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in electrical maintenance or operations.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and statutory requirements.
- Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
- Familiar with safety regulations and procedures for working with electrical systems.
- Able to work independently and respond to emergencies outside normal working hours when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities (Site Supervisor)
- Supervise and coordinate electrical installation works at the site according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Manage and monitor the performance of site workers and subcontractors to ensure quality and productivity.
- Ensure that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Inspect and verify installations such as cabling, conduit, lighting, panels, and other electrical systems.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper handling and storage at the site.
- Provide daily updates to the Project Engineer or Site Manager on progress, site conditions, and issues.
- Report and assist in resolving any technical or operational issues that arise during construction.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and enforce safety practices among workers.
- Maintain site records including daily reports, inspection logs, and material usage.
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover activities as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supervising electrical works on construction or industrial sites.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices, tools, materials, and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and installation layouts.
- Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiar with site safety protocols and compliance procedures.
- Able to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to be based on-site and work extended hours if required.
Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM9,500.00 per month
