Job Summary

The Supply Chain Division Intern will be assigned to support one of the following functional areas: Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Material Sales, Material Planning or Lodestar. The intern will gain practical exposure to supply chain processes, data analysis, process improvement, vendor and customer management, inventory planning, and business systems implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day supply chain activities, including procurement operations, vendor onboarding, contract administration, material sales, warehouse operations and inventory planning.
• Maintain and update vendor, sales, inventory and operational records to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with preparing quotations, verifying inventory levels, mapping prices, processing purchase orders and internal transfer documents, and tracking fulfilment.
• Respond to customer and internal enquiries and support issue resolution under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Document business requirements, process flows, workflow diagrams, standard operating procedures and process guides.
• Observe and map existing supply chain processes to identify gaps, bottlenecks, improvement opportunities and potential efficiencies.
• Conduct market research and analyse supply chain data to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights to support decision-making.
• Assist with inventory planning activities, including demand forecasting, replenishment analysis and monitoring of inventory and supply chain performance.
• Support the development of reports and dashboards using relevant planning, business intelligence and data analytics tools.
• Assist with process automation, data extraction and analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau or other relevant systems.
• Support system and process implementation, project transitions, user acceptance testing, data collection and tracking of testing activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to implement process improvements, technological innovations and standardisation initiatives.
• Prepare project status reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, presentations and other project documentation.
• Shadow experienced personnel to develop an understanding of the different roles and responsibilities within the Supply Chain Division.
• Undertake other tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor to support team and organisational objectives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in supply chain operations, process improvement, data analysis and business systems.
• Good analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of data visualisation or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL or Python is advantageous.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different functions.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and willing to learn in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
