Summary:

Handle day-to-day accounting, month-end closing and financial reporting for assigned entities, and support audit and tax matters.

Job Description

• Handle full sets of accounts, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
• Work with AR, AP and other finance teams to resolve accounting issues and meet closing deadlines.
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting schedules, with explanations of key movements.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing, and prepare bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Maintain proper accounting records and follow company policies and financial controls.
• Prepare supporting schedules for audits and tax submissions, and liaise with auditors and tax agents on queries.
• Provide financial information to support budgeting and cash flow planning when required.
• Assist with other accounting tasks as required.

Job Specification

• Degree in Accounting or a relevant professional qualification, such as ACCA or CPA.
• 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including full sets of accounts and month-end closing.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. SAP experience is an advantage .
• Working knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and basic tax requirements.
• Careful and organised, able to meet deadlines and work independently and with others.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
