Project Engineer is responsible for the hands-on site supervision, electrical quality

execution, and timely documentation of rooftop solar PV installations. Operating under the

guidance of the Project Manager, this role focuses on following established engineering

standards, checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure solar PV

systems are installed safely and right the first time.

The primary marker of success is disciplined, error-free execution—reducing rework,

maintaining accurate site progress records, and supporting subcontractors and project

teams on ground delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Safety Compliance

Supervise day-to-day installation activities on site to ensure compliance with

approved system designs, engineering drawings, and SOPs.

Monitor subcontractor execution and ensure installation crews adhere strictly to work

guidelines, personal protective equipment (PPE) rules, and rooftop safety standards.

Serve as the on-site liaison with subcontractors and installers, identifying execution

bottlenecks or safety hazards early and reporting them to the Project Manager.

Technical Execution & Quality Assurance

Perform and verify hands-on electrical maintenance and wiring tasks, including DC

string cabling, inverter terminations, AC distribution board (ACDB) interconnections,

and building wiring.

Conduct systematic quality inspections on rooftop mounting structures, module

clamping, waterproofing, and building equipment linked to the solar PV system using

standard checklists.

Execute basic pre-commissioning checks, such as polarity, continuity, and insulation

resistance tests, without repeated errors.

Documentation & Workflow Coordination

Maintain prompt, accurate daily site logs, progress records, inspection checklists,

and as-built markups.

Coordinate with project teams, HQ engineering, and logistics to resolve basic

construction and design clashes promptly on site.

Ensure site handover documentation and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) sheets are

completed and submitted on schedule to support downstream billing, net energy

metering (NEM) applications, and customer updates.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical &

Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable

Energy, or a related discipline.

Experience: Fresh graduates or engineers with 1–2 years of hands-on site

experience in solar PV installations, electrical contracting, or building construction.

Technical Skills:

Fundamental understanding of electrical systems, building wiring, AC/DC

power systems, and rooftop safety.

Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs), structural layouts,

and construction drawings.

Familiarity with standard electrical testing tools (multimeters, insulation

testers) and inspection checklists.

Languages & Communication: Good written and spoken English and Bahasa

Malaysia; ability to communicate clearly with multilingual on-site contractors.
