 Position: Project Manager – Structured Cabling / Data Centre Infrastructure

EMS Wiring Systems is expanding our operations in Malaysia, and we are looking for an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead structured cabling infrastructure projects within hyperscale data centre environments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive hands-on experience in fibre optic and copper cabling systems, and a proven track record in delivering large-scale hyperscale data centre projects.

• Project Leadership: Lead, manage and coordinate project teams, site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and installation resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Project Management: Oversee end-to-end project execution, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, progress monitoring, quality control and project handover.
• Structured Cabling Infrastructure: Manage large-scale fibre optic and copper structured cabling installations within hyperscale data centre environments.
• Testing & Validation: Oversee fibre optic testing (OTDR, OLTS, insertion loss) and copper certification (Fluke), ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure installation workmanship, testing procedures, documentation and final deliverables meet stringent hyperscale data centre requirements.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise closely with clients, consultants, main contractors, vendors and internal teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain high standards of site safety, quality, regulatory compliance and operational discipline.
• Project Reporting: Monitor project milestones, manpower productivity, risks, variations and overall project performance.

• Proven experience managing hyperscale data centre infrastructure projects, preferably focusing on structured cabling systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of fibre optic infrastructure (SM/MM), copper cabling (Cat6/Cat6A), testing, certification and validation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large project teams in fast-paced, high-pressure data centre environments.
• Familiarity with data centre infrastructure, including MMR, MDF, IDF, network rooms and rack-to-rack connectivity.
• Good understanding of industry standards such as TIA, ISO/IEC and BICSI best practices.
• Strong project planning, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts, tight deadlines and demanding project schedules.
• Experience working with international hyperscale clients or global data centre operators will be a strong advantage.
• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, IT, Telecommunications or Project Management are preferred.
• PMP, RCDD or other relevant industry certifications will be an added advantage.
