Agentic AI, AI Platform Engineer

About the Role

Join an enterprise AI engineering team building shared platform services that enable application teams to develop, deploy and operate secure AI agents. Working under a Lead AI Platform Engineer, you will contribute to platform development, integration, deployment and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and operate agentic AI platform services on OpenShift, Kubernetes or equivalent container platforms.
• Build reusable components that help application teams onboard and manage enterprise AI agents.
• Implement MCP servers and MCP/API gateways connecting agents to enterprise tools, APIs and data services.
• Support agent identity, authentication and secure communication between agents and services.
• Maintain agent registry components covering discovery, ownership, metadata and lifecycle governance.
• Apply security controls for authorisation, secrets management, tool access and least privilege.
• Test, troubleshoot, deploy and support platform services, ensuring reliability, resilience and scalability.
• Maintain documentation, deployment configurations, test cases and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application teams and delivery partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4 years’ experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, cloud-native infrastructure or data/AI platforms.
• Hands-on container-platform experience, including deployment, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience developing or integrating APIs, microservices or distributed services.
• Practical coding, scripting, integration or platform automation skills.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and structured software delivery; familiarity with GitOps and Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of REST APIs, API gateways and service-to-service communication.
• Basic knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, RBAC, service identities and secrets management.
• Basic understanding of GenAI and AI agents, including tools, models and APIs.
• Understanding of logging, metrics, tracing and operational monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
