Job Description
We are seeking an experienced R&D Laboratory Operations Manager to lead daily laboratory operations, safety governance, and biosafety protocols for our early-phase biologics and vaccine development facility in Singapore. In this key managerial role, you will govern laboratory infrastructure, manage vendor service contracts, enforce Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and cGMP standards, and ensure operational readiness across scientific workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Operations & Facility Management: Oversee daily lab throughput, preventive maintenance, instrument calibration (e.g., bioreactors, HPLC, mass spec), and space allocation across biosafety level (BSL-2/BSL-3) research suites.
- Safety, Health & Compliance: Enforce EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) policies, Biosafety Committee guidelines, chemical handling procedures, and waste management protocols in full compliance with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA) requirements.
- Procurement & Budget Governance: Manage lab operational budgets, track consumable inventories, negotiate vendor service agreements, and oversee procurement cycles for specialized scientific instruments and reagents.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Develop, optimize, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols, and data integrity standards in accordance with GLP/cGDP standards.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Support: Mentor laboratory executives and technical associates, partnering closely with R&D scientists, quality control analysts, and facility engineers to streamline operational workflows.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical/Bioengineering, or a related life sciences discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive laboratory operations or lab management experience within a biotech company, pharmaceutical MNC, or biomedical research institute.
- Technical Mastery: Deep operational knowledge of biosafety regulations, GLP/cGMP guidelines, instrument qualification, and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
- EHS Certification: Certified Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer or Biosafety Coordinator qualification is highly preferred.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong organizational skills, analytical problem-solving capability, and proven team management experience.
Pay: $9,000.00 - $14,500.00 per month
