About The Role

As General Manager, Sales and Marketing, you will lead the Exclusive 2 team across Client Management, General Trade, and Modern Trade in Malaysia, driving the formulation and execution of sales strategies to achieve targets across assigned businesses and territories. This role is central to DKSH's Consumer Goods growth agenda in Malaysia, delivering commercial excellence through strategic leadership, strong customer partnerships, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Will Deliver

• Oversee and manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocations, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources
• Formulate traditional trade sales strategies across the entire product portfolio and develop tailored sales strategies for individual products in consultation with clients
• Assign geographical sales territories and establish budgets, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage territorial performance effectively
• Oversee the development and implementation of short- and long-term sales plans, introducing new and improved strategies based on anticipated market changes and emerging trends
• Oversee pricing and contract negotiations with key customers to facilitate sales agreements and achieve targeted margins
• Anticipate competitors' go-to-market strategies and proactively drive new and enhanced product solutions to address evolving customer needs
• Provide clear direction on sales forecasting and reporting processes and activities to ensure business visibility and decision-making accuracy
• Strategize customer base expansion based on the effectiveness of current sales strategies and plans
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across sales processes, sales plans, and customer satisfaction
• Monitor department net operating capital and drive prompt payments by customers to maintain healthy working capital performance
• Establish customer issue resolution processes to ensure effective and timely closure of issues
• Develop and build long-term strategic relationships with key customers to sustain business objectives and drive loyalty
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to anticipate client needs and leverage cross-product and cross-industry business opportunities
• Set direction and cascade team and function goals, ensuring they are well-defined and clearly communicated across the organization
• Drive and manage learning and development of the team in the areas of Field Sales and DKSH behaviors to achieve team and function goals
• Champion continuous self-learning and improvement in Field Sales and DKSH behaviors as part of a growth mindset culture
• Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required

What You Bring

• Degree or professional qualification in Business Studies, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar industry
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of the industry, market landscape, competitive environment, and customer dynamics
• Advanced knowledge and a proven sales track record in assigned territories, products, and services, supported by an established network of industry contacts
• Advanced negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure commercially favorable outcomes
• Advanced research and analytical skills to support sound, data-driven decision-making
• Proficiency in office productivity tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Ability to manage globally and culturally diverse teams, lead through ambiguity, and drive initiatives that strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Demonstrated capability to manage organizational complexity, drive continuous improvement, and implement high-impact projects
