A Singapore-based software engineering organisation supporting complex, mission-critical environments is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Lead to support a significant technical hiring programme over an initial 3-6 month engagement.

This is not a recruitment or Talent Acquisition role.

We are looking for a strong Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, Principal Engineer or equivalent senior software-engineering practitioner who remains close to the engineering craft and has substantial experience personally conducting technical assessments of software engineers.

The focus is on assessing candidates from fresh graduates through to software team leads with approximately 7-10 years’ experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• conduct technical interviews and assess software-engineering fundamentals, problem solving and practical engineering judgement;
• review coding / technical tests and candidate submissions;
• evaluate design choices, testing and debugging approaches, and practical software-development capability;
• distinguish genuine engineering ability from strong CV or interview performance;
• document clear candidate assessments using the client’s existing technical interview and assessment frameworks;
• provide clear recommendations to HR and engineering hiring managers; and
• help ensure consistent technical standards across the hiring process.
  

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

You should be a credible senior software-engineering practitioner - ideally a current or recent Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or Principal Engineer - rather than someone whose experience is primarily recruitment, enterprise architecture or technology leadership.

You should have strong hands-on software-delivery experience, understand the SDLC end-to-end, and be comfortable independently assessing engineers across junior, mid-level and team-lead populations.

Experience in complex, mission-critical, systems-integration or government-related technology environments would be helpful but is not essential.

Location: Singapore

Work arrangement: Onsite

Commitment: Full-time preferred; minimum 3 days/week

Duration: 3-6 months initially
