Role Description This full-time Field Services Engineer role is an on-site position based in Bayan Lepas. The Field Services Engineer will install, commission, and maintain ASM’s advanced wafer processing equipment at customer facilities, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting equipment upgrades and modifications according to ASM standards. The role involves providing hands-on technical support, documenting service activities, and collaborating with engineering and customer teams to implement improvements. The Field Services Engineer will also deliver clear communication and training to customers, supporting strong long-term relationships and high satisfaction with ASM solutions.

Qualifications

• Field Service skills for on-site installation, commissioning, and support of semiconductor equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Preventive Maintenance skills to plan and perform scheduled inspections, calibrations, and component replacements.
• Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Relevant technical background, such as a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and service manuals.
• Willingness to work in cleanroom environments and occasionally outside standard working hours, depending on customer needs.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and capacity to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment or high-tech capital machinery is an advantage.
• Good spoken and written communication skills in English; additional language skills are beneficial.
