JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Project Planning & Governance
- The Project Manager shall be the primary point of contact for the Project.
- Develop and maintain the master project plan, milestones, and delivery roadmap for the Core Banking System Project for BPMB and EXIM Bank (“Project”).
- Establish the project governance structure, reporting cadence, and escalation procedures.
- Ensure the Project’s compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and approved governance frameworks.
- Prepare and present project updates to relevant Steering Committees, Management Committees, and/or the Board of BPMB, as required by BPMB from time to time, in accordance with project governance requirements.
- Coordinate project activities, escalate issues, and make recommendations to the Steering Committee in accordance with the approved governance structure.
- Prepare and provide the Work Breakdown Structure and detailed timeline, including the Gantt Chart.
- Provide all project documentation in PDF, Microsoft Project, or Microsoft Excel format, as applicable, in accordance with the agreed project timeline.
- Ensure the project timeline covers the end-to-end project lifecycle.
Project Execution and Control
- Manage end-to-end delivery of the Project, covering scope, timeline, cost, quality, and risks.
- Manage coordination across multiple vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders involved in the Project.
- Monitor dependencies, critical path activities, and milestone achievements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM), in a form acceptable to BPMB, that maps back to the Functional Specification Document (FSD) to ensure requirements are fully captured and available in the system.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Escalate issues in accordance with the project governance structure.
- Maintain a Risk Register and Issue Log.
- Provide risk assessment and analysis, and monitor risks throughout the Project.
- Log and track issues and mitigation measures that may impact project progress.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, vendors, and external parties.
- Facilitate decision-making and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor vendor performance against contractual deliverables and milestones.
- Support change request management and issue resolution.
- Organise and manage Project Kick-off Meetings, Progress Meetings, and Project Steering Committee Meetings, where applicable.
- Conduct progress meetings weekly or provide weekly email updates, depending on project needs.
Core Banking Implementation Oversight
- Oversee core banking implementation activities, including configuration, integration, and testing.
- Manage data migration activities, including mock runs, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
- Oversee parallel runs and cutover planning, execution, and Go/No-Go recommendations.
- Ensure operational readiness prior to system go-live.
Reporting and Documentation
- Regularly maintain key project artefacts, including RAID logs, action trackers, and decision registers, ensuring they are updated on an ongoing basis and at least once a month.
- Prepare regular project status reports, dashboards, and management summaries.
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and provide the Test Plan and Strategy.
- Prepare and provide the production deployment plan.
- Prepare and provide test scripts and documents for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Prepare and provide test scripts for Post-Implementation Validation (PIV) or User Verification Testing (UVT) to ensure the system is acceptable for use in production.
- Conduct knowledge transfer to business users and the IT team.
Quality Assurance and Delivery Assurance
- Ensure project deliverables comply with the Bank’s defined requirements, including agreed specifications, acceptance criteria, and quality standards, and are subject to formal review and approval by BPMB.
- Coordinate testing phases, including SIT, UAT, and production readiness.
- Support audit, risk, and compliance reviews related to the Project.
- Provide advisory input and recommendations to review and validate hardware and software requirements, and highlight any gaps during project execution, where applicable.
Post Go-Live and Project Closure
- Support post-implementation stabilisation and issue management, ensuring all issues are properly logged, tracked, managed, and resolved prior to project closure, unless otherwise agreed by BPMB.
- Ensure continuous knowledge transfer to the BPMB Group internal team throughout the project duration, and provide structured handover and documentation prior to project completion or resource replacement.
- Prepare lessons learned and project closure documentation.
- Support post-implementation stabilisation during the warranty/hypercare period, ensuring all identified issues are properly logged, tracked, managed, resolved, and escalated where appropriate, in accordance with the relevant project governance and documentation.
Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month
