We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Design Engineer to join their technical team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will coordinate civil engineering design activities, oversee shop drawing production and manage technical documentation. The role involves working closely with consultants, construction teams and other stakeholders to deliver safe, practical and cost-effective temporary and permanent works solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate design matters with construction teams, the Qualified Person (Design), Qualified Person (Supervision), the client and subcontractors’ Professional Engineers.
• Prepare shop drawings for temporary and permanent works, review drawings submitted by subcontractors and obtain clearance from the Qualified Person (Design) and the client’s in-house design team.
• Coordinate temporary works schemes with designers and site teams, clarify engineering requirements and communicate key design expectations to the Responsible Site Persons.
• Support verification that temporary works are constructed in accordance with approved designs, monitor changes in site conditions and raise design change requests where required.
• Monitor design submission packages assigned by the Design Manager and review them for completeness, technical adequacy and efficiency.
• Review design calculations and, where required, prepare calculations for miscellaneous works requested by the construction team and obtain Professional Engineer endorsement.
• Identify opportunities to optimise temporary and permanent works designs, reduce construction risks, maximise temporary works reuse and improve constructability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with designers and site teams to agree on practical engineering solutions and drive their implementation.
• Resolve technical and design coordination issues, escalating critical concerns to the Design Manager.
• Provide additional technical and design support as assigned by the Design Manager.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), Singapore.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Singapore’s construction industry, preferably in underground construction.
• Sound knowledge of local engineering standards, codes of practice and construction safety requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, clients and site teams.

Pay: $4,500.00 - $7,500.00 per month
