About the Role
We are seeking a senior, highly accomplished General Manager – Marine & Freight Operations to take complete operational and commercial oversight of feeder vessel operations, agency representation, and freight forwarding activities. Based in Singapore, this role is responsible for driving feeder performance, optimizing equipment control, executing commercial objectives, and supervising cross-border back-office teams in Indonesia to deliver seamless service quality and business expansion.
Responsibilities
- Feeder & Marine Operations Management: Direct end-to-end feeder vessel operations, ensuring optimal vessel performance, equipment control, service reliability, and adherence to commercial objectives.
- Agency & Freight Forwarding Leadership: Oversee liner agency representation activities and manage the freight forwarding business unit to drive market growth and operational efficiency.
- Cross-Border Operations Supervision: Supervise back-office functions executed by teams in Indonesia, ensuring processes are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with corporate standards.
- Regional Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the primary operational coordinator between Singapore and Indonesia teams to streamline cross-border workflows and maintain high operational standards.
- Commercial & Quality Strategy: Monitor operational performance indicators, oversee service quality, and align execution strategies with regional commercial targets.
- Business Growth & Relationship Management: Identify new market opportunities within feeder and freight logistics sectors while building strategic partnerships across the regional maritime ecosystem.
Requirements
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Years of Experience: Senior-level experience (10+ years preferred) in shipping, feeder vessel operations, agency representation, and freight forwarding.
- Industry Expertise: In-depth technical knowledge of feeder operations, container fleet equipment control, port agency procedures, and regional logistics.
- Cross-Border Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing cross-border teams and supervising remote operational functions (specifically between Singapore and Indonesia).
- Core Competencies: Strategic leadership, commercial acumen, high-level negotiation, problem-solving, and executive decision-making skills.
- Location & Openness: Based in Singapore (open to all eligible nationalities).
