Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of PCBA and Box Build manufacturing operations across the organization’s facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure that manufacturing goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost are achieved efficiently and consistently.

The role provides operational leadership in production planning, process optimization, team supervision, resource allocation, KPI management, and continuous improvement, while working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production output and ensure strict adherence to industry standards, including ISO certifications and regulatory requirements.

The Production Manager will play a key role in driving high-volume PCBA, SMT, through-hole, and box-build electronics manufacturing activities, fostering a strong culture of continuous improvement, safety, quality, and accountability across the production floor.

The position is expected to be a strong business and operations partner, leveraging operational data, process improvement methodologies, and team leadership to maximize efficiency and translate manufacturing capabilities into measurable business performance.

Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Management

  • Plan, organize, and control the production schedule to meet customer requirements and demand.
  • Ensure timely delivery of electronic assemblies, PCBA, and box-build products.
  • Oversee daily production operations to maintain smooth production flow and achieve output targets.
  • Review and adjust production schedules based on material availability, capacity constraints, and priority changes.

B. Process Optimization & Productivity Improvement

  • Analyse production processes and line performance to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
  • Implement operational improvements to optimize productivity, increase output, and reduce waste.
  • Drive the best utilization of labour, machine, and material resources across production lines.
  • Collaborate with Industrial and Process Engineering to improve cycle times and operational flow.

C. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Control/Assurance team to ensure products meet stringent quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with customer requirements, internal quality management systems, and industry standards.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances or quality defects on the line.
  • Support internal and external quality management audits.

D. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and build high-performing production supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, accountability, and discipline within the production floor.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support talent development.
  • Manage workforce shift planning, attendance, and line allocation to meet operational demands.

E. Resource & Cost Management

  • Manage labour, material, and equipment resources to achieve maximum cost efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory control and shop-floor WIP management.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure adequate material supply and avoid production downtime.
  • Control overtime, operational expenses, and manufacturing losses.

F. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure all production activities comply with workplace safety regulations and company EHS standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures to minimize risk, occupational hazards, and workplace injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, addressing hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Promote a proactive safety-first culture across all production areas.

G. KPI Management & Operational Reporting

  • Monitor, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
  • Output volume & On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • First Pass Yield (FPY) & Quality Scrap/Rework rate
  • Labour Efficiency & Machine Utilization
  • Manufacturing Cost & Overtime targets
  • Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights to the Engineering Manager / General Manager.

H. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Process Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to resolve daily operational challenges.
  • Provide production input for engineering changes, NPI transfers, and capacity planning.
  • Support program management and customer reviews regarding production status and delivery commitments.

I. Technology Integration & Modernization

  • Stay current with advancements in electronics manufacturing technologies, particularly SMT and box build setup.
  • Recommend upgrades or enhancements to equipment, line configurations, and processes to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Support shop-floor digitalization, MES integration, and automated monitoring systems.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Production Manager will be accountable for, but not limited to:

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance
  • Production Output vs. Target (Volume & Target achievement)
  • First Pass Yield (FPY) and Quality defect reduction
  • Labour efficiency and line utilization
  • Overtime and operational cost reduction
  • EHS / Safety compliance

Successful implementation of Lean

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
