We are seeking a Data Scientist to develop and deploy data-driven solutions using statistical analysis, predictive modelling and machine learning. The incumbent will transform complex data into actionable insights and analytical solutions to support business decision-making and improve performance across key business functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory and advanced data analysis on large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and business opportunities.
• Design, develop, validate and monitor predictive, statistical and machine learning models to address business needs and improve decision-making.
• Support the deployment and operationalisation of analytical and machine learning models, including performance monitoring and continuous enhancement to ensure accuracy, reliability and relevance.
• Partner with business units to understand business challenges, translate requirements into analytical solutions and provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare, transform and analyze data from multiple sources to support modelling and analytical initiatives.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain appropriate model documentation, validation and governance standards in accordance with organisational requirements.
• Keep abreast of emerging data science, analytics and machine learning techniques and identify opportunities for practical application.
• Undertake other ad-hoc projects and assignments as required.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in data science, advanced analytics, predictive modelling or related disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, predictive modelling and machine learning.
• Proficient in Python and/or R, and SQL, with experience handling large and complex datasets.
• Experience in model development, validation and deployment into production.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Experience in general insurance or financial services is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, or relevant professional certifications would be an added advantage.
