Kerja Sepenuh Masa, Retail Lead di Cheak - Maukerja

We are a fast-growing activewear brand creating versatile, elevated pieces for women on the move. We believe in thoughtful design, community-driven storytelling, and building a brand that empowers confidence from the studio to the street.

Our retail story is just getting started, and we're looking for someone to help write it. As part of our founding retail team, you'll set the standards, systems, and culture every future cheak store will be built on. You will work closely with the founders and our marketing team to ensure our customer experience in-store matches the brand they know online.

Commercial Performance

• Own retail performance and P&L delivery, working alongside Store Manager to achieve sales targets, manage manpower and operating costs, and improve store profitability.
• Track performance across stores and work with Store Manager to identify gaps and implement clear actions to achieve sales targets.
• Partner with merchandising and relevant teams on stock availability, replenishment and slow-moving products; share customer insights to inform decisions.

Customer Experience and Brand

• Translate cheak’s brand values into clear service standards covering product education, fit, styling and the customer journey.
• Work with marketing on visual merchandising, launches, activations and community events, with clear goals and follow-up on results.
• Use customer feedback and store observations to improve service and support consistent execution across stores.

Retail Operations and Growth

• Own and improve the retail operating playbook, including opening and closing, cash handling, stock controls, service recovery and escalation procedures.
• Coach Store Managers on compliance with operating procedures and safety standards; follow up on incidents and recurring gaps.
• Build a repeatable opening plan for pop-ups and permanent stores, covering staffing, training, stock readiness and operational checks.
• Support the founders on new sites and markets by assessing operational readiness, staffing needs and expected costs.

Leadership and Team Development

• Recommend the retail team structure and staffing needs in line with agreed business plans.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and development of store teams, building leadership capability and readiness for future opportunities.
• Develop practical training in product and fabric knowledge, fit, styling, selling, operations and community engagement.
• Set a regular rhythm of performance reviews, store visits, coaching, recognition and feedback; address performance concerns promptly.
• Build a collaborative team culture with clear expectations, accountability and strong customer service.

What makes you a great fit

• Typically 4 or more years of retail experience, including at least 2 years leading a store or retail team, with demonstrated ownership of sales performance and people development. Candidates with equivalent practical experience are welcome.
• Experience in activewear, fashion, beauty or lifestyle retail is preferred. A strong Store Manager ready to take on broader responsibility will also be considered.
• Commercial confidence in retail KPIs, budgeting, manpower planning and stock management, with the 
• ability to turn data into practical actions.
• Experience hiring, coaching and developing teams, with the confidence to guide Store Managers and work closely with founders.
• Experience improving retail processes or supporting store openings; experience across multiple stores is an advantage.
• A hands-on approach, sound judgement and the ability to prioritise as business needs evolve.
• An interest in activewear, movement and wellness, with the ability to connect with cheak’s customers and community.
• Clear communication and confidence using spreadsheets and retail systems.
• Based in Singapore and able to spend regular time in stores, including weekends, public holidays and events as business needs require.
