ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / SENIOR LECTURER / LECTURER MARITIME ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY SECTION, UNIKL MIMET

(Dataran Industri Kejuruteraan Marin, Bandar Teknologi Maritim, Jalan Pantai Remis, 32200 Lumut, Perak)

KEY ROLES :

• Deliver and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Marine Engineering.
• Conduct high-quality research, publish scholarly papers, secure research grants, undertake consultancy projects, and supervise postgraduate students.
• Contribute to curriculum development, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), programme accreditation, and academic quality assurance initiatives.
• Establish and strengthen industry partnerships through collaborative projects, professional training, consultancy, and applied research.
• Contribute to academic leadership, strategic planning, and the continuous development of the academic section.
• Support the development and enhancement of laboratories, engineering facilities, and innovative technologies in maritime and related engineering fields.

REQUIREMENTS :

• PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Relevant academic and/or industry experience commensurate with the level of Associate Professor in Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Marine, Offshore, or related engineering fields.
• A minimum of 5 – 10 years of relevant industry and/or teaching experience.
• Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, scholarly publications, and student supervision.
• Proven experience in curriculum development, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), programme accreditation, and academic quality assurance.
• Strong track record in securing research grants, undertaking consultancy projects, driving innovation, and fostering industry collaboration.
• Experience in academic leadership, mentoring junior academic staff, and supervising postgraduate students is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated achievements in teaching, research, scholarly publications, and academic supervision.
• Ability to secure external research funding and consultancy opportunities.
• Good knowledge of current developments and emerging trends in naval architecture, marine engineering, digitalisation, and sustainable maritime technologies.
