 In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and responsiveness of mission-critical banking applications under various load conditions. You will collaborate closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to identify performance bottlenecks, optimize system behavior, and deliver seamless digital experiences for internal and external customers . The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industry-standard performance testing tools and a strong understanding of banking application architectures.

Performance Test Planning & Design

• Collect performance test requirements across different application technologies and business functions
• Develop comprehensive performance test plans incorporating testing objectives, testing environments, user profiles, risks, test scenarios, tool selection, schedules, and analysis approaches
• Identify critical business flows and system architecture to plan effective performance testing strategies

Script Development & Execution

• Develop and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner and/or JMeter, with protocols including Web (HTTP/HTML), web services, MQ, Java, and GUI
• Customize and enhance test scripts as per workload requirements
• Execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests to assess system performance under various conditions
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines for Agile delivery environments

Analysis & Optimization

• Analyze test results to identify bottlenecks, providing tuning recommendations for performance improvement
• Perform thorough analysis of performance metrics including server response times, throughput, hits/sec, transactions/sec, and system resource utilization
• Monitor application performance using APM tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana) and OS-level commands (perfmon, Nmon, vmstat)
• Identify database-related bottlenecks and recommend indexing/optimization strategies
• Understand Java application performance (JVM, heap dump, thread dump analysis, garbage collection)

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work collaboratively with developers, DevOps, infrastructure, QA, and business stakeholders to resolve performance issues
• Prepare and present performance test reports and recommendations to stakeholders
• Contribute to forecasting, requirement gathering, and delivery planning for performance testing cycles

Experience

• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing, with specific experience testing banking applications
• Proven experience in end-to-end performance testing lifecycle

Technical Skills

• Performance Testing Tools: Proficiency in LoadRunner and JMeter is mandatory
• Scripting: Experience with VB Script, Java, or C for test script development
• Databases: Working knowledge of SQL and database performance concepts (Oracle/MS SQL)
• Operating Systems: Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting for backend analysis
• APM Tools: Experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, or similar
• CI/CD: Experience integrating performance testing into pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub)

Methodologies & Domain Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and SDLC
• Banking domain knowledge is mandatory, including familiarity with consumer banking, mobile banking, or internet banking applications
