We are hiring a Data Center Technician (Johor Bahru) for a global technology company, on a project contract until July 2027, with potential for extension depending on client project requirements. In this role, you will work inside one of the biggest data center projects in Johor and get real hands-on site experience, acting as the "hands" on site for remote engineering teams.

Overview

The role is for a hands-on individual with a background in data center, IT support, NOC or field service. You will install and support servers and network equipment, keep racks neat, and handle daily checks and incident support. The working hours are fixed (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm), with no rotating shifts.

About the company

Our client is a global technology company running a large data center project in Johor. You will work directly on this project alongside their engineering teams.

What you'll do:

• Install and remove servers, and replace parts like hard disks, RAM and power supplies
• Support network equipment: switches, routers and firewalls
• Handle cabling: patching, labelling and keeping racks neat
• Be the "hands" on site for remote engineering teams
• Carry out daily checks, incident support and inventory
• Provide some standby during big sales campaigns (like 11.11 and 12.12). This is not shift work.

• Experience in data center, IT support, NOC or field service

What you'll need:

• Experience in data center, IT support, NOC or field service
• Hands-on experience with servers, routers and switches
• Basic Linux and troubleshooting skills
• Own transport, as you will move between sites near each other
• Living in Johor, or ready to move to JB

Contract:

Project contract until July 2027, with potential for extension depending on client project requirements.
