SAP FICO Consultant – Implementation & Projects

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Salary Budget: MYR 8,000–16,000 per month; subject to local budget and experience

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced SAP FICO Consultants with strong hands-on experience in SAP implementation and project delivery. The successful candidates will participate in SAP implementation projects, system configuration, business process design, and integration activities to support business requirements across multiple markets.

Candidates must have practical project experience in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO), including implementation, rollout, or transformation projects. Profiles focused primarily on application support, maintenance, or AMS will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end SAP FICO implementation, rollout, and transformation projects.
• Gather and analyse business requirements, conduct workshops, and translate requirements into functional specifications and SAP solutions.
• Configure SAP FI/CO modules to meet business and financial reporting requirements.
• Support key financial processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Bank Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, and Profit Center Accounting.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis, business process mapping, solution design, and configuration activities.
• Work closely with SAP MM, SD, and other functional teams to ensure seamless integration across business processes.
• Prepare and execute functional testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support data migration, cutover planning, deployment, and go-live activities.
• Prepare functional documentation, configuration documents, test scripts, and process flows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and project teams to resolve implementation issues and ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and optimise SAP system functionality.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant SAP FICO experience, depending on project requirements and budget.
• Mandatory hands-on experience in SAP implementation, rollout, or project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO configuration and financial business processes.
• Experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Understanding of integration between SAP FICO and other modules, particularly SAP MM and SAP SD.
• Experience in data migration, cutover, and go-live activities is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project-based environment.

Important Candidate Screening Criteria

• Candidates must have direct SAP FICO implementation, rollout, or transformation project experience.
• Candidates with project delivery responsibilities beyond routine ticket handling are preferred.
• Candidates whose experience is limited to SAP support, AMS, incident management, or routine maintenance will not be considered.
• Candidates should be able to explain their specific roles, configuration responsibilities, and contributions throughout the project lifecycle.
