As a Data Center Facility Specialist within the Facility & Asset Management (FAM) team, you will provide technical oversight of Data Center facility infrastructure across assigned sites. You will act as a customer-side L2 function, working with Data Center Operations, third-party Data Center providers, and facility vendors to monitor facility health, manage incidents, review maintenance activities, and identify operational risks. The role focuses on maintaining the reliability, availability, safety, and performance of critical electrical and mechanical systems while driving a shift from reactive incident management toward preventive and risk-based facility management.
Job Description:
- Partner with Data Center Operations, Data Center providers, facility vendors, and engineering teams to monitor facility health and ensure critical infrastructure meets operational and service requirements.
- Monitor and review key facility parameters including power availability and loading, UPS/PDU performance, generators, electrical distribution, cooling capacity, HVAC systems, temperature, humidity, environmental alarms, and BMS/DCIM data.
- Act as the L2 technical escalation point for facility incidents; support investigation, mitigation, RCA, corrective actions, and closure of incidents involving power, cooling, environmental conditions, and critical facility infrastructure.
- Review preventive maintenance schedules, maintenance procedures, risk assessments, service reports, and maintenance outcomes. Verify that critical maintenance activities are completed according to agreed requirements and identify gaps requiring follow-up.
- Assess facility risks related to power, cooling, equipment condition, maintenance activities, capacity constraints, single points of failure, and provider operations; track mitigation actions through closure.
- Review power and cooling capacity against current and projected IT load and assess the operational impact of planned maintenance, infrastructure changes, and other activities.
- Develop and maintain facility operational standards, including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, maintenance checklists, inspection requirements, and facility health reports.
- Conduct periodic Data Center facility health reviews and use operational data to identify abnormal conditions, recurring issues, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with Data Center providers and vendors to improve facility reliability, maintenance quality, operational consistency, and compliance with safety and operational requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building services, facilities engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Data Center facilities, critical infrastructure, facilities operations, building services, or a related engineering environment.
- Sound understanding of Data Center electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on exposure to areas such as UPS, generators, switchgear, PDU, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling systems, or BMS/DCIM.
- Experience supporting facility maintenance, incident management, troubleshooting, RCA, or operational risk management.
- Ability to work with third-party Data Center providers, contractors, and vendors, and to technically review maintenance activities and service reports.
- Ability to understand engineering documentation, maintenance procedures, operational data, and facility risks, and translate findings into practical corrective actions.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams without direct line-management authority.
Kindly note that you can only be considered for one role at a time with any of the companies within our Group. If you have applied for other jobs with the Group, you will be considered for roles in the order of your application.
