The Role

You will be Tegro’s first dedicated engineer. You will design, build, deploy and run every digital surface Tegro has, and the infrastructure underneath it. Your core purpose is to build the systems that let our commercial teams deliver reliably at speed, and that give our clients structured, live access to information about their projects and assets.

This is a hands-on role with broad ownership. You will set the firm’s engineering standards, and work directly with clients and the partners to specify, build and ship production systems.

Core Responsibilities

1. Digital Systems and Client Platforms

• Design and build datarooms and digital systems that are structured, queryable and live.
• Develop project assessment and asset operations tooling for the Tegro team and our clients.
• Work directly with clients and partners to specify, iterate on and deploy production systems.

1. Data Infrastructure

• Build the data spine: ingestion, storage, transformation and access layers across client systems, operational data, market intelligence, tools and apps.
• Own the cloud environment end to end: provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, authentication, access control, monitoring and security suited to confidential client and transaction data.

1. Applied AI

• Ship an AI layer that does real work: retrieval across technical and commercial document sets, structured extraction, and tool-calling agents embedded in live workflows.
• Build evaluation, cost control and failure handling into every AI system you deploy.

1. Standards and Team

• Establish engineering standards, documentation and operational practice suited to critical infrastructure work.
• Work with the data analyst and the investment team

Candidate Profile

• 1–5 years building and shipping production software, including systems you owned end to end, from design to live users.
• Full-stack depth: modern front-end frameworks, backend services and APIs, relational data modelling and SQL. You can provision, secure and deploy your own cloud infrastructure, with CI/CD and monitoring.
• AI-first engineering: you use or are keen to use agentic coding tools daily to speed up delivery. You build LLM capability into products, including retrieval, structured extraction, tool-calling agents and evaluation, and you understand cost, latency and failure modes in production.
• Clear views on information architecture and data design, a bias to action, and a habit of shipping fast in small iterations. You have the confidence to shape how we design, build and deliver for our clients.
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, industrial or another operationally critical environment is an advantage.
