TAPA Asia Pacific is hiring a Head of Membership & Growth to lead our membership function across the region.
This role brings together business development, member engagement and team leadership. You will be responsible for growing the membership base and revenue, while ensuring existing members receive value and remain involved.
Working closely with the Executive Director, you will help decide which markets and industries to prioritise, how we attract new members, and how we improve the membership experience. You will also lead the Membership and Business Development team and work with colleagues across TAPA APAC to put those plans into practice.
The role would suit someone who enjoys both planning and delivery: building senior relationships, supporting a team, managing a pipeline and taking responsibility for results.
What you’ll be doing
Lead the APAC membership strategy and annual operating plan, with responsibility for acquisition, engagement, renewals, retention, upgrades and membership revenue.
Manage the Business Development function and acquisition pipeline, identifying organisations, industries and markets with potential for growth.
Develop Buyer membership and other priority membership categories.
Improve the member experience, from onboarding through to participation and renewal.
Build relationships with senior stakeholders to understand their needs and identify how TAPA APAC can provide value.
Develop practical initiatives for referrals, membership upgrades and re-engaging lapsed members.
Work with MarComm on campaigns, lead generation and member communications.
Work with Standards, Training, Brand Protection and other teams to connect members with relevant programmes and activities.
Use conferences, training and forums to support member acquisition and engagement.
Keep CRM records, forecasts and performance reporting accurate and useful.
Monitor membership trends and feedback, adjusting plans where needed.
Lead and coach the Membership team, with clear priorities and accountability for agreed objectives.
What we’re looking for
You should have experience growing a membership base, customer portfolio or B2B business, alongside the ability to lead people and build relationships with senior stakeholders.
Relevant experience includes:
At least seven years in membership management, business development, account management, commercial development, associations or a related B2B role.
A track record of delivering growth, revenue, engagement or retention results.
Experience managing a team, function or significant regional programme.
The ability to turn a strategy into practical actions and follow through on delivery.
Sound commercial judgement, analytical skills, and confidence in presenting and negotiating.
Experience using CRM systems for pipeline management, forecasting and reporting.
Strong written and spoken English. Additional APAC languages would be useful.
Willingness to travel across the region when required.
Experience in logistics, supply chain, security, technology, professional services or industry associations would be helpful. Knowledge of supply-chain security and an existing regional network are useful, but neither is required.
