Job Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, equipment, spare parts and services required for marine and project operations.
• Request quotations and compare pricing, quality, specifications and delivery terms.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders after obtaining the necessary approval.
• Negotiate prices and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Coordinate with project teams, site personnel, vendors and transport providers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on delayed deliveries.
• Maintain accurate purchasing documents, supplier records and price comparisons.
• Verify delivery orders and invoices before submitting them for payment.
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers when required.
• Handle urgent purchasing requests from the office and project sites.
• Perform other purchasing and administrative duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience.
• Experience in the marine, shipping, offshore, dredging, reclamation or construction industry is preferred.
• Good knowledge of purchasing procedures and supplier management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple purchase requests and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Responsible, organised and able to work independently.
• Familiarity with marine equipment, spare parts and project materials will be an advantage.
