ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre construction project in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan.

The successful candidate will assist the Project Manager in overseeing project planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring to ensure that construction activities are completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with the required quality standards.

This role requires strong construction project management experience, preferably involving data centres, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist the Project Manager in managing the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the data centre construction project.
2. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
3. Monitor project progress against approved schedules, milestones, budgets, and project deliverables.
4. Support the preparation and review of project programmes, progress reports, meeting minutes, and management updates.
5. Monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and project standards.
6. Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical (M&E) works to ensure proper integration and timely execution.
7. Identify project risks, delays, technical issues, and potential cost overruns, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
8. Assist in managing project variations, change requests, procurement activities, and contractual matters.
9. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with contractors and consultants.
10. Ensure compliance with occupational safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
11. Support testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction project management or project coordination.
• Previous experience in data centre construction projects will be an added advantage.
• Experience managing or coordinating large-scale industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or building construction projects.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, project scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction site environment.

• Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) works.
