Position Summary
The Production / Workshop Executive will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the vehicle fabrication yard and steel manufacturing assembly lines. You will coordinate specialized technicians (welders, automotive electricians, and mechanical fitters) to ensure that custom vehicle conversions and bodywork fulfill strict engineering blueprints, delivery timelines, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities & Job Scope
1. Production Scheduling & Workflow Control
- Manage day-to-day manufacturing, assembly, and steel fabrication schedules to hit project timelines for custom emergency and defense vehicles.
- Assign tasks to workshop teams (Welders, Fitters, Automotive Electricians, and Technicians) and clear bottleneck points in the production yard.
- Coordinate the installation of specialized sub-systems such as lighting systems, lightbars, siren electronics, and hydraulic equipment.
2. Technical Quality Assurance & Blueprints
- Interpret engineering drawings, structural blueprints, and technical diagrams to guide teams through layout, precise metal cutting, and assembly.
- Conduct rigorous quality control inspections on specialized vehicle chassis modifications, MIG/TIG welding, and component alignments to meet Malaysian vehicle roadworthiness regulations.
- Ensure all final builds comply with client safety specifications (e.g., Fire & Rescue departments, Ministry of Health, and municipal councils).
3. Inventory, Parts & Materials Management
- Monitor raw material consumption (galvanized steel sheets, octagonal/polygonal poles, chassis parts) and cross-coordinate with the store supervisor to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Prevent project delays by ensuring all specific parts—from custom vehicle fittings to wiring accessories—are requested and pre-staged for production.
