Role Overview

We are seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join our investment team. You will be responsible for conducting bottom-up fundamental research, building and maintaining financial models, and generating actionable investment ideas for the portfolio management team.

This role is suited for a candidate with prior experience in equity research (buy-side or sell-side) who can work independently, communicate conviction clearly, and thrive in a lean, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fundamental Research & Modelling: Conduct in-depth analysis of listed companies, including financial statement analysis, industry competitive dynamics, and management assessment. Build and maintain detailed three-statement financial models and valuation frameworks (DCF, comparable multiples, sum-of-the-parts).
• Investment Idea Generation: Proactively screen and identify investment opportunities. Prepare written research reports and present stock recommendations to the Investment Committee with clear articulation of thesis, catalysts, and risks.
• Portfolio Support: Monitor existing portfolio holdings, track earnings releases and corporate developments, and provide timely updates on material changes to investment thesis.
• Primary Research: Conduct channel checks, attend industry conferences, and engage with company management teams and sell-side analysts to gather differentiated insights.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all research activities and documentation adhere to internal policies and applicable MAS regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline. CFA charterholder or active CFA candidate preferred.
• Experience: 2–5 years of relevant equity research experience covering Singapore and/or regional Asian equities. Candidates from either buy-side or sell-side research backgrounds will be considered.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and valuation. Strong command of Excel and experience with financial databases (Bloomberg, FactSet, or equivalent).
• Analytical Rigor: Demonstrated ability to think independently, challenge consensus views, and support conclusions with evidence-based analysis.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex ideas concisely.
• Attributes: High integrity, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership. Comfortable working in a small-team setting with minimal supervision.
