About the Role
Enjoy working with numbers, solving business puzzles and understanding what drives a company's value? Come grow with us!
We are looking for curious, driven and analytical individuals to join our growing Valuation Advisory team in Malaysia. Whether you already have valuation experience or are looking to make the move from audit, financial reporting or corporate finance, this is an opportunity to build your expertise, broaden your horizons and be part of an exciting growth journey.
You will work on a diverse mix of valuation engagements, spanning business valuations, financial reporting and transaction-related assignments across different industries. Our projects involve businesses and transactions across Malaysia and the wider region, giving you the opportunity to gain cross-border exposure and see how businesses operate beyond the numbers.
We believe the best work happens when people learn from one another, share ideas and enjoy working together. As part of a growing team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, take ownership of meaningful work and make a real contribution to our projects and the team's development.
No prior valuation experience? No problem. If you have a solid foundation in finance or accounting, a curious mind and the drive to learn, we would love to hear from you. We will provide on-the-job guidance to help you build your valuation skills and grow your career.
We are hiring at both Associate and Senior Associate levels, with the designation and responsibilities tailored to your experience and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Engagement Execution: Perform or assist in valuing businesses, equity interests, financial instruments, intangible assets and other assets for financial reporting, tax and transaction purposes. Get involved in transaction-related assignments, including financial due diligence (FDD).
- Financial Modelling: Build and analyse financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) models, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis and other relevant valuation methodologies.
- Market Research: Conduct industry research, identify and screen guideline public companies and relevant market transactions to support valuation assessments.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse historical financial statements, management forecasts, business plans, cash flows and key valuation assumptions.
- Valuation Deliverables: Prepare valuation reports, presentations and other client deliverables.
- Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to gather relevant information, understand their businesses, clarify assumptions and discuss valuation-related matters.
- Engagement Leadership: For Senior Associate, take greater ownership of engagements, review the work of junior team members and help others develop their skills.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in valuation, audit and assurance, corporate finance, transaction advisory, financial modelling or financial reporting.
- A background in Big Four audit is a plus, but valuation experience is not a must. If you are ready to explore something new and build a career in valuation advisory, we are happy to help you make the transition.
- A good understanding of financial statements, corporate finance and financial analysis, with an eagerness to learn valuation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with financial data and models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and an ability to connect the dots.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- The ability to juggle multiple assignments, work independently and deliver quality work within deadlines.
- A proactive attitude, an open mind and a team-first approach. We value people who ask questions, share ideas and are happy to roll up their sleeves.
Above all, we are looking for people who are eager to learn, enjoy tackling new challenges and want to grow alongside the team.
What You Can Look Forward To
- Competitive basic salary of RM4,500–RM7,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.
- Get involved in a variety of valuation and transaction-related assignments across industries and markets.
- Gain exposure to businesses and transactions across Malaysia and the wider region, including cross-border engagements.
- Build practical expertise in valuation, financial modelling and transaction advisory, with opportunities to take on greater responsibilities as you develop.
- Work in a growing, close-knit team where your contributions count, your ideas are welcome and you can make a tangible impact.
- Work closely with experienced professionals, receive guidance and develop your skills through hands-on project experience.
- Be part of the team's growth, take on new challenges and help shape how we work as the practice evolves.
