Job Summary

Manage vessel stowage planning and operational coordination to optimize cargo distribution, enhance crane productivity, and ensure compliance with safety standards, supporting efficient port operations and vessel turnaround.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage central stowage planning for deployed vessels to ensure optimal cargo distribution and operational efficiency
• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety guidelines, including coordinating and approving hazardous cargo shipments
• Optimize crane allocation by minimizing crane split deviations and maximizing crane productivity to reduce port stay durations
• Liaise with agents and terminal operators to validate vessel stowage plans, focusing on cargo weight distribution and resolving stowage-related issues during port operations
• Collaborate with the Operations Team on vessel movements, port stay limitations, and schedule adjustments to support operational efficiency
• Work with the Trade Department to maximize cargo utilization through coordinated planning
• Proactively identify and communicate potential stowage issues to Operations and Trade teams to prevent delays and improve vessel turnaround time
• Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors to support operational needs

Required competencies and certifications

• Possess at least a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Maritime Studies or equivalent

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partners
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support documentation and reporting tasks
• Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic operational environment
• Minimum of 1 year’s working experience in a related maritime or shipping field
