Maltem Asia is currently seeking an L1 Network Support Engineer for our client in the Education domain.

Role: L1 Network Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network alerts and respond to incidents based on severity and escalation procedures.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting of wired LAN, wireless LAN and IP telephone connectivity.
• Check network cables, patch cords, LAN points, switches and wireless access points.
• Investigate Wi-Fi connectivity and signal-strength issues at user endpoints.
• Verify physical network equipment status, power connections and indicator lights.
• Replace faulty patch cables and coordinate repairs for network cabling issues.
• Assist with network equipment installation, upgrades and replacement activities.
• Coordinate with L2 network engineers and third-party service providers to resolve network incidents.
• Support network maintenance activities and verify completed work.
• Maintain incident records and provide updates on network-related issues.

Requirements

• Relevant IT or networking qualification.
• Experience in network support, IT infrastructure or technical troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of LAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, switches and wireless access points.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of network incident escalation procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge is an advantage.
