RESPONSIBILITIES

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Casework and Community Services Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough investigations and assessments of individuals and families referred for assistance.
2. Admission Assessment for Residential Care- Investigate and Assess referrals for admission into The Salvation Army residential care Home/After School Care ensuring suitability and compliance with established criteria.
3. Casework and Pre- Counselling Services- individual, group or families.
4. Coordinate After Care of residents discahrged from the TSA home- Plan, coordinate, and monitor aftercare services for residents discharged from The Salvation Army Homes to ensure effective reintegration into the community.
5. Case Documentation and Record Management- Open, maintain, and safeguard confidential case files in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
6. Reporting and Review Board Implementation- Prepare and present written reports to the Review Board and implement follow-up actions based on recommendations.
7. Inter-Agency Networking and Collaboration- Establish and maintain professional relationships with welfare agencies, government departments, hospitals, educational institutions, and community organizations.
8. Organizational Representation- Represent the organization at local and national social welfare meetings, seminars, and related events in coordination with the Corps Officer(s).
9. Community Programme DevelopmentDevelop and participate in outreach initiatives such as:- Food parcel distribution- Emergency relief services- Community-based programmes under Corps and Community Services
10. Administrative and Statistical Reporting- Ensure timely completion of monthly reports, statistics, diaries, and financial documentation as required.
11. Support and participate in The Salvation Army Fund raising event such as Sales of Work, Kettling, Charity dinner, jumble sales etc.
12. Additional Assignments- Undertake other duties as directed by the Corps Officer(s).

B. After School Care Programme (Social Work-Focused Responsibilities)

1. Social Work Support within After School CareProvide social work-related support to children experiencing emotional, behavioural, social, or family-related challenges.
2. Case Monitoring and Early InterventionIdentify and assess children requiring psychosocial support and implement appropriate early interventions in consultation with the Corps Officer(s).
3. Family Engagement and SupportEngage with parents/guardians to address social or family issues affecting the child's well-being and development.
4. Referral and External CollaborationFacilitate referrals to relevant agencies, schools, counsellors, or government bodies when necessary to ensure comprehensive support.
5. Safeguarding and Child ProtectionMonitor child welfare and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, adhering strictly to child protection policies and procedures.
6. Behavioural Guidance SupportSupport the implementation of structured behavioural management and character development strategies in collaboration with programme staff.
7. Documentation and Case ReportingMaintain proper documentation including case notes, parent meetings, intervention plans, incident reports, and progress monitoring records for After School Care participants.
8. Programme Coordination SupportWork closely with After School Care staff to ensure programme activities contribute to children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
