Main Duties & Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a commercially driven Specification Executive to develop project opportunities, strengthen relationships with industry stakeholders, and grow sales within the flooring and building solutions market.

You will work closely with architects, interior designers, consultants, developers, contractors, retailers, and distribution partners to secure product specifications and convert project leads into sales. You will also collaborate with internal teams to ensure product availability, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Developing product specifications and following up on project sales opportunities.
• Building and maintaining relationships with architects, consultants, interior designers, developers, contractors, retailers, and relevant government agencies.
• Working with distributors and their sales teams to identify, specify, follow up on, and secure projects.
• Supporting sales strategies to maximise revenue and profitability within the assigned territory.
• Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
• Ensuring distribution partners maintain appropriate stock levels and actively promote the product range.
• Coordinating with customer service and internal operations teams to address customer concerns and support timely deliveries.
• Monitoring project progress and maintaining strong communication with key accounts.
• Providing market feedback and competitor insights to support business planning.

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate will have most of the following:

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, Interior Design, Architecture, Construction, or a related field.
• Around 3–5 years of experience in specification sales, project sales, or a related commercial role.
• Experience within the flooring, building materials, interior products, or construction industry is advantageous.
• Established relationships with architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors, developers, or distributors would be beneficial.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia for customer engagement and internal coordination.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to manage multiple project opportunities.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently.
• Experience contributing to successful project wins and sales growth.
