They are seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team, supporting critical plant equipment, industrial boiler systems and overall manufacturing reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery, rotating and static equipment to ensure equipment reliability and minimise production downtime.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and support the start-up and shutdown of industrial boiler systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, identify potential faults and implement corrective actions to maintain plant operability.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors and service providers, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and according to established standards.
- Implement Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and risk assessment procedures to ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams and maintenance documentation to support troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Support equipment upgrades, plant improvement initiatives and maintenance-related projects.
- Prepare maintenance and inspection reports, ensuring accurate documentation and timely closure of SAP maintenance work orders.
- Collaborate with production, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and improve plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) standards, regulatory requirements and good housekeeping practices.
Requirements
- Minimum Higher Nitec in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably within the Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas or related process manufacturing industries.
- Valid Boiler Attendant Class 1 Certificate is mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and maintenance of rotating and static equipment.
- Practical knowledge of industrial boiler maintenance, troubleshooting, start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Familiarity with PTW, LOTO, risk assessment and industrial workplace safety requirements.
- Experience with SAP or other Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) would be advantageous.
- Additional certifications in Forklift Operation, Working at Height (WAH), Risk Assessment (RA) and Permit-to-Work (PTW) would be an advantage.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts and perform overtime when operationally required.
