The Team
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is looking for a Consultant (open to candidates between levels of Senior Associate through Director) to join its Operations practice with a focus on manufacturing. We are open to hiring in any of our ASEAN offices. You will help industrial clients improve plant performance by raising productivity, reducing cost, improving quality and building sustainable operational excellence on the shop floor. A&M’s approach is hands-on and focused on results, so you will work alongside plant teams to turn analysis into measurable impact. You will get early responsibility and exposure to a variety of manufacturing environments, and you will build a strong base for a career in operations consulting.
How You Will Contribute
- Solve problems for clients. You will identify issues, form hypotheses, design and run analyses, and turn your conclusions into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Drive improvement on the shop floor. You will work on site with plant management and production teams to put lean and process improvements into practice, track progress against targets and keep the gains in place.
- Analyse manufacturing performance. You will build baselines and models for OEE, throughput, labour productivity, conversion cost, scrap and quality, so that you can find where value can be captured.
- Communicate with stakeholders. You will present findings to plant and operations leaders, and run workshops and kaizen events that create alignment and momentum.
- Learn across a range of work. In your first few years you will be a junior practice specialist on several manufacturing engagements, working with many colleagues and clients across industrial sectors.
- Build expertise. You will develop the knowledge and skills needed to help companies achieve manufacturing excellence.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree with an exceptional academic record, ideally in engineering or a related technical field
- Initial experience in a manufacturing topic such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, production process optimisation or quality management
- A proven record of leadership at work and/or through extracurricular activities
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- The ability to explain complex ideas clearly, verbally and in writing, in English and respective local office language
- Mobility and enthusiasm for SEAA assignments during the work week, including time on site at client plants
