Key Responsibilities:

Technical delivery

• Inspect, diagnose and assess the condition of industrial radiators on site, and recommend repair, refurbishment or replacement.
• Carry out servicing and repair work: cleaning, leak detection and pressure testing, fin and tube repair, gasket and valve replacement, flushing, repainting and re-commissioning.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance under customer service contracts, following agreed checklists and scope of work.
• Attend breakdown and urgent call-outs and restore equipment safely and quickly.
• Operate and maintain tools, test equipment and lifting aids; keep them calibrated and in good condition.
• Ownership of the complete service job, including pre-job planning, manpower and resource coordination, execution, quality verification, customer handover, root-cause feedback, technician development, and operational improvement.

Quality, safety and reporting

• Follow Perfex and customer site safety rules, permit-to-work procedures and risk assessments on every job.
• Complete accurate service reports, on-site checklists, photos and test records on the same day, and hand them to the Service Manager.
• Flag defects, repeat failures and safety risks early, with a proposed corrective action.

Customer and commercial

• Act as the first technical contact for customer engineers and plant staff; explain findings clearly and set realistic expectations.
• Identify additional repair, service-contract and new-radiator opportunities, and pass them to Business Development and Sales.
• Support quotations by providing site measurements, scope and material estimates.

Team

• Lead small field teams, plan job tasks and allocate work.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on safe, standard working methods.
• Contribute to service procedures, checklists and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher certificate (NITEC/Higher NITEC) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or a related trade; equivalent hands-on experience accepted.
• At least 5 years of field experience in servicing, repairing or fabricating radiators, heat exchangers, coolers or similar industrial equipment, including 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Hands-on skill in leak testing and pressure testing, brazing or welding repair, fin straightening and cleaning, and component replacement.
• Able to read mechanical drawings, nameplates and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of industrial safety: working at height, confined space, lifting and rigging, lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work.
• Valid safety certifications, for example Basic Safety Orientation (BSOC), Construction Safety Orientation or equivalent, and Work at Height.
• Able to write clear service reports in English and use a smartphone or tablet for checklists and photos.
• Strong communication skills, with confidence dealing with customer engineers.
• Reliable, self-driven and able to work with little supervision.
• Class 3 driving licence.
