We are looking for a
creative, highly detail-oriented Graphic Designer
to join our team, with a strong interest and capability in
packaging and structural design
.
Ideally, you will have experience designing packaging within the
CPG, FMCG, food & beverage, lifestyle, or premium consumer goods industry
. However, we are also open to designers from other backgrounds who demonstrate a
strong understanding of packaging structures, dielines and print production
, combined with an exceptional eye for aesthetics, typography, proportion and detail.
At Gryphon, design is not simply about making something look beautiful. We believe great packaging must work on the shelf, communicate clearly, feel distinctive, and translate accurately from an idea into a finished physical product.
We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between
creative thinking and technical execution
— from developing a visual concept and packaging structure through to preparing production-ready artwork and working with printers and suppliers to bring the final product to life.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualise and develop creative designs for
product packaging, seasonal collections, gift sets and marketing campaigns
.
Develop packaging concepts across different formats, including cartons, labels, pouches, sachets, cans and other physical packaging formats.
Work with
packaging structures, dielines, dimensions and physical constraints
to create designs that are both aesthetically strong and commercially practical.
Create accurate packaging artwork, including
structural layouts, dielines, labels and print-ready files
.
Develop visual assets for e-commerce, social media, digital advertising, retail displays and other marketing materials.
Maintain consistency across the Gryphon brand while bringing fresh creative ideas and a strong point of view.
Work closely with marketing, sales, production, printers and packaging suppliers to take projects from
concept through to finished production
.
Liaise with printers and packaging suppliers on artwork specifications, colour accuracy, materials, substrates and finishing techniques.
Review physical proofs and samples, identifying and resolving design or production issues where necessary.
Manage multiple projects independently, prioritising timelines and ensuring work is delivered accurately and on schedule.
Conduct thorough final artwork checks to ensure
accuracy, alignment, typography, colour, dimensions and production readiness
.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related discipline.
Minimum
3 years of relevant graphic design experience
.
Strong proficiency in
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
.
Strong understanding of
packaging artwork, dielines, print production and colour management
.
Good knowledge of CMYK, Pantone and common packaging finishing techniques such as
hot stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV
.
Strong visual skills in
typography, composition, hierarchy, proportion and layout
.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve artwork issues independently.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Packaging Experience — Preferred
Experience in
CPG/FMCG, food & beverage, lifestyle, beauty, hospitality or premium consumer brands
will be highly advantageous.
However, candidates without direct CPG experience will also be considered if their portfolio demonstrates:
Strong understanding of
structural design and physical packaging
.
Ability to work confidently with
dielines and production constraints
.
Excellent aesthetic judgement and a sophisticated understanding of
premium design
.
Strong attention to detail and precision in artwork execution.
Ability to translate an idea or creative brief into a
clear, commercially effective physical product
.
The Person We're Looking For
Beyond technical ability, we value someone who:
Has an
exceptionally good eye for aesthetics, proportion and detail
.
Understands what makes packaging look
premium, distinctive and desirable
.
Is curious about materials, structures, printing and finishing — and enjoys understanding how things are physically made.
Is creative and proactive rather than simply executing instructions.
Can challenge a brief constructively and propose better design solutions.
Understands that great packaging must be
beautiful, functional and commercially effective
.
Takes pride in precision and will notice the small details others miss.
Is comfortable working hands-on, moving between concept development, artwork and production.
Has a strong sense of ownership and can take a project from
idea → artwork → production → finished product
.
How to Apply
Please submit your
resume, expected salary and design portfolio
featuring relevant packaging, branding or structural design projects.
Your portfolio should demonstrate not only visual creativity, but also your ability to
solve design problems, work with physical formats and execute designs to a high level of detail
.
Candidates with strong packaging, structural or CPG experience are preferred, but we are also open to exceptional designers from other disciplines whose portfolio demonstrates the required capabilities.
