BIM Modeller / Senior BIM Modeller – Architectural & Structural

• Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia
• Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Salary: RM2,000 – RM9,000, depending on experience and seniority
• Working Days: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  

About the Role

We are currently looking for BIM Modellers and Senior BIM Modellers to join a growing technical and BIM team supporting building construction projects.

We welcome candidates with experience in either Architectural or Structural BIM, with opportunities available across junior, intermediate and senior levels.

The role will involve BIM modelling, construction documentation, multidisciplinary coordination and model quality control, with senior-level positions also responsible for technical coordination, quality reviews and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate BIM models using Autodesk Revit and, where applicable, Tekla Structures.
• Model architectural or structural elements based on approved designs, drawings and project requirements.
• Convert consultant design information and 2D drawings into detailed construction-ready BIM models.
• Prepare architectural or structural shop drawings, layouts, sections, elevations, details, schedules and as-built documentation.
• Update BIM models based on design revisions, engineering instructions, site requirements and coordination decisions.
• Support multidisciplinary BIM coordination between architectural, structural and MEP disciplines.
• Participate in clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360.
• Identify modelling discrepancies, design conflicts and potential coordination or buildability issues.
• Assist in resolving clashes and updating models based on agreed coordination requirements.
• Support model-based quantity extraction for procurement, tendering, subcontractor claims and project requirements.
• Maintain BIM models according to project standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), naming conventions, shared coordinates and document control procedures.
• Perform model and drawing QA/QC checks to ensure accuracy, consistency and coordination.
• Support the preparation of project submissions, construction documentation and as-built deliverables.
• Work closely with BIM Coordinators, BIM Managers, engineers, consultants and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• For senior-level positions, lead BIM coordination activities, review models and drawings, allocate modelling tasks and mentor junior BIM team members.
• Contribute to improving BIM workflows, modelling efficiency and overall project delivery.
  

Architectural BIM Positions

Candidates with an Architectural BIM background will be involved in areas such as:

• Architectural Revit modelling
• Walls, floors, doors, windows, ceilings and finishes
• Staircases, wet areas, façades and roofing
• Builder's work openings and construction interfaces
• Architectural shop drawings and documentation
• Architectural clash detection and coordination
• As-built modelling and documentation

Senior Architectural BIM candidates may also be involved in LOD 350–400 modelling, BIM coordination, QA/QC, Revit standards, clash management and mentoring junior modellers.

Structural BIM Positions

Candidates with a Structural BIM background will be involved in areas such as:

• Structural Revit and/or Tekla modelling
• Foundations, pile caps, columns, walls, beams and slabs
• Staircases, ramps and roof structures
• Precast, PPVC and DfMA elements
• Openings, sleeves, embeds and construction interfaces
• Structural shop drawings and reinforcement documentation
• Quantity extraction for concrete, formwork and reinforcement
• Structural clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination

Experience with precast, PPVC or DfMA construction will be an added advantage.

Requirements

Depending on the level of the position:

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building, Construction or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant BIM modelling or drafting experience for BIM Modeller positions.
• 5+ years of architectural BIM experience for Senior BIM Modeller positions.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit relevant to your discipline.
• AutoCAD experience is required.
• Knowledge of Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 and Bluebeam Revu is an advantage.
• Structural candidates with Tekla Structures experience are encouraged to apply.
• Good understanding of BIM modelling, construction documentation and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
• Candidates with building construction experience are preferred.
• Experience with Singapore construction/BIM projects is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Exposure to precast, PPVC, DfMA, façade coordination or other construction-related BIM workflows is an added advantage.
• BIM, Autodesk or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.
