Job Summary

Responsible for implementing and supporting energy management activities across KPJ hospitals and facilities. The role focuses on conducting energy audits, monitoring energy consumption, evaluating mechanical and electrical system performance, and implementing energy efficiency and conservation initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, reduce energy costs and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse energy consumption data, utility usage and performance trends to identify energy-saving opportunities.
• Conduct energy audits, site inspections and technical assessments to evaluate energy efficiency and building system performance.
• Assess and recommend improvements to mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, chillers, pumps, lighting and building management systems.
• Implement and monitor energy efficiency and conservation initiatives across KPJ hospitals and facilities.
• Coordinate energy efficiency projects, including technical assessments, site activities, contractor coordination and project implementation.
• Conduct energy performance measurement and verification to evaluate energy savings and improvement outcomes.
• Investigate energy-related operational issues, perform technical troubleshooting and recommend corrective actions.
• Support compliance with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA), Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements and other applicable regulations.
• Prepare energy audit reports, technical assessments, energy performance analyses and project progress reports.
• Coordinate with hospital management, engineering teams, contractors and relevant stakeholders on energy management activities.
• Assist in preparing energy management budgets, cost estimates and technical proposals.
• Support energy awareness programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant working experience in energy management, energy auditing, mechanical and electrical engineering or facilities management.
• Registered Energy Manager (REM) with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), minimum Type 1.
• Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT).
• Good technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, chillers, pumps, electrical distribution and building management systems.
• Experience in energy audits, energy performance monitoring, technical troubleshooting and energy efficiency projects.
• Familiarity with EECA requirements, relevant engineering standards and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and preparation of technical reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with engineering teams and hospital stakeholders.
• Able to travel to KPJ hospitals and facilities as required.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
