Assistant Technical Manager – Medical & Laboratory Equipment

About the Role

ASSB is looking for an experienced and ambitious Service Engineer ready to progress into technical leadership and eventually lead our technical department.

This is an opportunity for a senior engineer who wants to move beyond hands-on servicing and take greater responsibility for technical operations, project coordination, customer support and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate, guide and mentor Service Engineers and Technicians.
• Monitor service quality, project progress and technical issue resolution.
• Handle technical escalations, customer complaints and manufacturer enquiries.
• Coordinate with international principals on technical support, warranty claims and spare parts.
• Review service reports, technical documentation and compliance requirements.
• Support customer training, equipment demonstrations and nationwide projects.

Preferred Technical Background

Candidates with hands-on servicing experience in the following areas will be strongly preferred:

Laboratory Diagnostic Equipment

• Blood gas analysers
• Urine analysers and urinalysis systems
• Full blood count (FBC) and haematology analysers
• Clinical chemistry and other laboratory diagnostic analysers

Radiology & Medical Imaging Equipment

• X-ray systems
• CT scanners
• MRI systems
• Ultrasound and other medical imaging equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Medical Electronics, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on medical or laboratory equipment servicing experience.
• Practical experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Experience mentoring, supervising or coordinating engineers is an advantage.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Valid Malaysian driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Malaysia.

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
