Role Description The SIEM/MDR Infra Specialist Support role is a contract, on-site position based in Cyberjaya. The specialist will support and maintain security infrastructure related to SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and MDR (Managed Detection and Response) platforms, ensuring high availability and performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring system health, handling incident-related escalations, managing configuration changes, and coordinating with security operations teams to improve detection and response capabilities. The role involves troubleshooting infra-related issues, performing routine maintenance and upgrades, documenting procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of security tools and workflows. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, follow established security governance practices, and ensure adherence to relevant compliance and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong knowledge of SIEM platforms and MDR solutions, including configuration, integration, and operational support.
• Candidates should possess skills in infrastructure administration such as servers, networks, operating systems, and virtualization relevant to security tool deployment.
• Candidates should possess abilities in troubleshooting, incident analysis, and root-cause identification for infra and security-related issues.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with information security principles, monitoring, log management, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Candidates should possess effective communication, documentation, and collaboration skills for working with security operations and infrastructure teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., in security, networking, or systems administration) and experience in enterprise or managed services environments are beneficial.
• A degree or equivalent practical experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

Requirement:

• Monitor health and availability of the SIEM and MDR platform infrastructure
• Onboard new log sources and prepare log baselines for new device additions
• Configure the SIEM console to collect, parse and normalise logs from new log sources
• Troubleshoot log source connectivity issues and track log stoppage
• Monitor connector and collector status and raise tickets for failures
• Verify daily automated backup jobs and raise tickets on backup failures
• Define and configure health monitoring parameters and their thresholds
• Raise tickets with the SIEM administrator when health thresholds are breached
• Perform recovery of data or configuration as needed
• Support license verification and capacity tracking for ingested log sources
• Apply approved changes to rules, scheduled reports and dashboards
• Maintain SIEM/MDR platform patching and version compliance in coordination with vendors
• Complete shift handover reports and daily infrastructure status reporting
• Escalate platform or infrastructure issues to the Delivery Lead as per the escalation matrix
