The Opportunity

Our client is a leading retail organization seeking a strategic L&D leader to build and own the regional learning function. They need someone who can develop people capabilities that drive business results and support organizational transformation. This role bridges talent development and business performance - you’ll architect how the organization builds retail capability, while championing the strategic change initiatives that shape the organization’s future.

The Role

As Head of Learning & Development, you’ll have full ownership of the non-corporate regional L&D function. You’ll develop strategy aligned with business objectives, manage budget and team, and ensure every learning initiative connects to business outcomes and organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute regional L&D strategy aligned with business and transformation objectives
• Drive change management to facilitate the version 2.0 of the L&D strategy for the region
• Design and deliver onboarding, product knowledge, and professional development programs across the retail network
• Build capability and expertise across the organization; drive engagement, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning
• Lead learning support for organizational change initiatives; design training that drives adoption and behavioral change
• Partner with senior stakeholders across functions to develop comprehensive learning plans aligned with market needs and business strategy
• Manage L&D budget, resources, and team performance
• Measure learning effectiveness and implement solutions that drive measurable business results

The Ideal Candidate

You bring over 12 years experience in L&D, with 4-5 years in a leadership role within Beauty, Hospitality or Retail industries in the Asia region. You’ve executed learning strategies that delivered business impact and have change management experience. Demonstrated past success in driving organizational change and succeeding in complex environments. You’re commercially minded, culturally aware, and can build and lead high-performing teams. You understand how to develop retail talent and are genuinely curious about driving capability and transformation, not just managing training logistics.
