About the Role

Elixr Labs Sdn Bhd is a growing functional wellness brand, and we are looking for an experienced Machine Operator to take ownership of our production machinery at our Gelang Patah facility.

This is not a general production or packing role. You will be the person responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring and troubleshooting our machines throughout production.

Our key production equipment includes KAT-6320L and KAT-6320HL sachet Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machines, a 3D ribbon blender and a horizontal screw mixer.

We are specifically looking for someone who is already familiar with sachet FFS machinery and understands what to check and adjust when something goes wrong. You should be comfortable dealing with issues such as film alignment, eye-mark detection, sealing, cutting position, filling consistency and machine jams without needing to call a technician for every small problem.

You will work closely with our QC team and report directly to the founders.

What You'll Be Doing Day to DaySachet FFS machine operation

• Set up and operate our KAT-6320L and KAT-6320HL sachet FFS machines for daily production
• Prepare the machines before each production run and conduct trial runs before starting full production
• Install, thread and align packaging film correctly
• Set up and adjust eye-mark sensors to maintain correct artwork positioning and cutting
• Set and adjust sealing temperature, filling parameters, machine speed and other operating settings
• Monitor machine performance continuously throughout production
• Carry out product and packaging changeovers between different SKUs and flavours
• Perform proper machine start-up and shutdown procedures

Troubleshooting and machine adjustment

• Identify and troubleshoot common sachet FFS machine problems during production
• Resolve film feeding, tracking and alignment issues
• Troubleshoot eye-mark sensor detection and incorrect cutting-position problems
• Identify and correct weak, incomplete or inconsistent sachet seals
• Adjust machine settings where sachet filling or finished weight becomes inconsistent
• Troubleshoot powder feeding and flow issues
• Resolve routine film jams, sachet jams and other operating interruptions
• Monitor machines for unusual noise, vibration, movement or abnormal operation
• Make routine mechanical and operational adjustments where appropriate
• Identify when an issue can be corrected internally and when production should be stopped and escalated to a technician or machine supplier
• Minimise unnecessary production downtime while maintaining product quality and machine safety

Powder mixing and processing

• Set up and operate the 3D ribbon blender and horizontal screw mixer
• Prepare mixing equipment for production according to the approved production process
• Load ingredients according to the required production sequence
• Operate the equipment using the required mixing settings and duration
• Monitor blending equipment throughout production for abnormal operation, leakage, vibration or unusual noise
• Ensure blended powder is properly discharged and transferred to the next production stage
• Carry out cleaning and product changeovers between batches and SKUs

Production quality

• Work closely with QC during machine setup and throughout production
• Monitor sachet appearance, fill consistency, sealing, cutting position and packaging quality
• Make machine adjustments when QC identifies machine-related production issues
• Stop production where continued operation could produce defective or non-conforming products
• Assist in identifying the root cause of recurring machine-related quality problems
• Ensure machinery remains stable and consistent throughout each production run

Cleaning, maintenance and documentation

• Carry out machine cleaning and sanitation according to company SOPs
• Disassemble and reassemble approved removable machine components where required for cleaning
• Inspect equipment before and after production for loose, damaged or worn components
• Report maintenance requirements before they develop into major machine failures
• Support routine preventive maintenance and machine servicing
• Complete equipment cleaning and usage logs accurately
• Record machine settings, operating issues, adjustments and breakdowns where required
• Follow all production SOPs, batch records, GMP, hygiene and food safety requirements

Who We're Looking For

• Prior hands-on experience operating sachet Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machines
• Experience with powder sachet filling and packaging machinery is strongly preferred
• Able to independently set up, operate and adjust FFS machinery during production
• Comfortable troubleshooting common FFS problems involving film feeding, film alignment, eye-mark sensors, sealing, cutting, filling and powder flow
• Mechanically minded and comfortable making routine machine adjustments
• Able to understand how different machine settings affect the finished sachet
• Able to recognise the difference between a routine operating issue and a fault requiring a technician
• Confident taking responsibility for machinery throughout a production run
• Careful, observant and able to spot machine abnormalities before they become larger problems
• Comfortable working closely with QC and following production specifications
• Able to follow SOPs, GMP, hygiene and food safety requirements consistently

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience specifically operating automatic sachet FFS machines for powder products
• Experience with vertical sachet packing or powder-filling machinery
• Experience operating ribbon blenders, screw mixers or similar powder-processing equipment
• Experience in food, beverage, supplements, pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing
• Experience carrying out machine changeovers and basic preventive maintenance
• Experience troubleshooting sensors, sealing systems, film tracking or filling systems
• Experience working in a GMP or MeSTI-controlled production environment
• Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge
• A valid Food Handler Certificate and typhoid vaccination certificate

Work Details

• Location: Gelang Patah, Johor (in person)
• Working hours: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
• Breaks: One-hour lunch break Monday to Thursday; two-hour break on Friday for employees attending Friday prayers
• Type: Full-time, permanent

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
