Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of mission-critical data center facilities.

This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in high-performance environments and possess strong expertise in electrical power distribution, critical power infrastructure, testing & commissioning, and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

• Review and develop electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for data center facilities.

• Design and review electrical power distribution systems, including MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, busduct/busway, panels, and distribution boards.

• Review sizing and selection of cables, circuit breakers, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and other electrical equipment.

• Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage-drop calculations, and protection coordination studies.

• Review singleline diagrams (SLDs), schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and electrical schedules.

• Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable international and local codes and standards.

Critical Power Systems

• Provide engineering support for UPS, battery systems, standby generators, ATS/STS, switchgear, and critical power distribution.

• Support electrical redundancy and resiliency requirements such as N+1, 2N, and distributed-redundant configurations.

• Review power availability and capacity requirements for IT loads and mechanical systems.

• Support testing and verification of electrical systems under normal, emergency, and failure conditions.

Construction & Installation

• Monitor electrical installation activities and verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality requirements.

• Inspect installation of MV/LV equipment, cables, containment, grounding, lighting, and electrical distribution systems.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and other MEP disciplines.

• Review material submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, technical submittals, and method statements.

• Identify and resolve technical issues during construction.

Testing & Commissioning

• Support pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.

• Review and witness FAT, SAT, pre-functional testing, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing (IST).

• Participate in generator, UPS, switchgear, protection, ATS/STS, and emergency-power testing.

• Verify electrical system performance under simulated failure and transfer scenarios.

• Review commissioning documentation, test reports, and punch lists.

Operations & Maintenance

• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for critical electrical infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot electrical faults and equipment failures.

• Analyze electrical incidents and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Review maintenance procedures, switching procedures, emergency operating procedures, and standard operating procedures.

• Maintain accurate electrical documentation, equipment records, and as-built drawings.

• Support electrical capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, applicable regulations, and company procedures.

• Participate in electrical safety programs, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes.

• Support safe isolation, switching, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and energization activities.

• Ensure electrical works are executed in accordance with approved risk assessments and method statements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• [3–8+] years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial facilities, or large commercial projects.

• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and critical power systems.

• Experience with MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, protection systems, and grounding.

• Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting SLDs, electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards such as IEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local authority requirements.

• Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, equipment manufacturers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
