Role Description

Support financial planning and analysis through budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights. Partner with business leaders to understand financial drivers, evaluate opportunities and risks, and guide resource allocation in line with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Gather planning inputs and validate assumptions with business stakeholders.
• Analyze revenue, margins, operating expenses, headcount, capital expenditure, and cash flow.
• Explain variances against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Build financial models linking operational drivers to financial outcomes.
• Develop scenarios to assess risks, opportunities, and funding requirements.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations with actionable commentary.
• Support investment appraisal, profitability analysis, and business case development.
• Partner with budget owners to review spending and identify corrective actions.
• Reconcile management reporting with accounting results and investigate discrepancies.
• Track performance against agreed initiatives and financial targets.
• Improve planning systems, reporting workflows, and data quality.

Role-Specific Responsibilities

• FP&A Analyst: Prepare models, reports, forecasts, and variance analyses; investigate trends and support business reviews.
• FP&A Associate: Own defined planning and analytical workstreams, coordinate stakeholder inputs, and develop recommendations with appropriate review.
• FP&A Manager: Lead planning cycles, review forecasts and performance reporting, challenge assumptions, and advise business leaders on financial priorities.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in FP&A, financial analysis, management accounting, commercial finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience developing financial models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to validate data and translate findings into clear business recommendations.
• Effective written communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
• Sound commercial judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
• A degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• For manager roles, experience leading planning processes, reviewing financial outputs, and managing teams or complex cross-functional workstreams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Progress toward or completion of a relevant qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, financial planning platforms, and business intelligence tools.
• Experience with SQL, reporting automation, or data visualization.
• Exposure to multi-entity reporting, regional operations, or business partnering.
• Relevant industry knowledge and understanding of operational performance drivers.

Scope by Role

• FP&A Analyst: Delivers financial analysis and planning support for assigned business areas.
• FP&A Associate: Takes responsibility for defined analyses and planning deliverables, with seniority determined by the organization’s structure.
• FP&A Manager: Oversees FP&A delivery within the assigned remit, aligning plans, insights, and recommendations with business objectives.
