Responsibilities/ Functions:

· Responsible for the day-to-day mechanical design and development of switchboards, including integration with related systems and disciplines such as Medium Voltage (MV) switchboards, transformers, Low Voltage (LV) switchboards, busduct systems, and other associated equipment.

· Develop mechanical designs based on electrical schematics, customer specifications, applicable technical standards, and project requirements.

· Understand and capture customer requirements and translate them into practical, manufacturable, and implementable engineering solutions during the design phase.

· Convert switchboard layout drawings into detailed sheet-metal fabrication and production drawings.

· Prepare, manage, and maintain mechanical drawings, including component drawings, feature drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.

· Prepare, organize, and maintain Mechanical Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure that all related drawings and components are properly identified and documented.

· Monitor and update the drawing schedule based on project progress and ensure drawings are completed according to the required timeline.

· Organize, control, and maintain completed engineering drawings and ensure the latest approved revisions are properly uploaded to the designated server/document management system.

· Assist the Supervisor and Production Management in resolving mechanical design and production-related issues.

· Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams during manufacturing, assembly, installation, and troubleshooting activities.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

· Proven experience in mechanical design for electrical switchboards, switchgear, control panels, electrical enclosures, or related products.

· Strong knowledge of sheet-metal design, fabrication processes, engineering drawings, mechanical design principles, and manufacturing processes.

· Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and SolidWorks for 3D modelling and mechanical design.

· Knowledge or experience in Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an advantage.

· Good knowledge of plastic, metal, and other engineering materials, including their properties, applications, and selection criteria.

· Familiarity with various material surface treatment and finishing processes.

· Experience with prefabrication solutions, electrical systems, cooling systems, or related engineering solutions is an advantage.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and develop practical engineering solutions.

· Strong hands-on skills with the ability to independently assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot mechanical products.

· Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and project deadlines.

· Good teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, production, procurement, and other departments.

· Proactive, adaptable, willing to learn, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
