Financial Services Internal Audit | Singapore| Analyst and Consultant
The role
Join a team that performs internal audits, regulatory reviews and related risk advisory work for banks and other financial institutions. You will apply credit and lending knowledge to assess how clients originate, approve, monitor and manage credit exposures. The final grade will reflect your experience and the scope you can deliver.
What you will do
- Support risk based audit planning, process walkthroughs, control design assessments, sample selection, testing and follow up of agreed actions.
- Review credit origination and underwriting, financial analysis, credit proposals, delegated approvals, risk ratings, collateral and covenants, disbursement, periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring.
- Examine credit files and portfolio information to identify exceptions, deteriorating exposures, overdue reviews and weaknesses in escalation, classification or remedial management.
- Assess whether credit practices follow applicable client policies and relevant Singapore regulatory requirements; document the basis for each conclusion.
- Prepare clear working papers, discuss factual observations with clients and contribute to reports with practical recommendations.
- Work with colleagues across audit, risk and specialist teams where an engagement requires quantitative models, data analytics or technology expertise.
What we are looking for
- A degree in finance, accounting, economics, banking, business, risk management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience or demonstrable exposure in credit analysis, lending operations, credit risk management, credit review, internal audit or financial services risk advisory. Corporate or commercial lending exposure is especially useful; retail, trade finance or structured finance experience is also welcome.
- Working knowledge of how credit decisions are documented and monitored, including financial statements, repayment capacity, internal ratings, collateral and covenant compliance.
- Ability to examine evidence carefully, use Excel to analyse exceptions, write concise findings and communicate constructively with clients.
- An interest in Singapore banking regulation and the ability to identify which requirements apply to a client and engagement.
Additional experience that would help
- Credit portfolio monitoring, early warning indicators, problem loans or restructuring; exposure to funds, financial institutions or cross border lending.
- Familiarity with expected credit loss or credit risk models, such as IFRS 9, PD, LGD and EAD, is useful for relevant assignments but is not required for every engagement.
- CIA, FRM, CFA, CA or comparable study; experience with SQL, Python or audit analytics.
