Kitchen Assistant (Secondary School – Yishun) x1

Salary: $12/hour (approximately $1,716/month)

Contract Duration: 10 months, with an option to extend for another 10 months

️ Contract Period: January 2027 – 29 October 2027

Working Hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–2:30pm

• Friday: 7:30am–12:30pm

• Inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break, where applicable.

Working Days: Monday–Friday

No Service Required: Saturdays, Sundays, school holidays and gazetted public holidays. Ad-hoc services during school holidays may be required, but are unlikely to exceed 10 hours in total.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of Food and Consumer Education rooms and preparation areas.

• Place weekly orders for food ingredients, materials and cleaning supplies.

• Prepare ingredients, materials and equipment for food practical and theory lessons.

• Assist teachers in supervising students' safety and discipline during lessons.

• Conduct safety checks of the laboratory after each lesson.

• Check inventory items and report items requiring replacement on a termly basis.

• Verify and account for the receipt of ingredients and kitchen supplies.

• Maintain accurate inventory records of culinary supplies and books.

• Support the organisation and running of food-related school activities.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum primary school education.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in food preparation and food hygiene standards.

• Able to speak, read and write English.

• Basic mathematical skills.

• Pleasant and mature disposition.

• Responsible and attentive to food hygiene, safety and inventory management procedures.
