Job Description

• Review company accounts, annual reports and interim financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and supporting notes.
• Analyse revenue, costs, profitability, working capital, liquidity, debt and cash flow to assess financial performance and position.
• Calculate and interpret financial ratios, compare results across reporting periods and, where relevant, benchmark against comparable companies.
• Identify significant financial movements, unusual items and potential risks; document research questions and findings for review by senior colleagues.
• ·Gather, organise and validate information from company filings, financial reports and credible industry sources; reconcile financial figures and maintain clear records of sources, assumptions and calculations.
• ·Support the preparation and maintenance of basic financial models, forecasts and scenario analyses using agreed assumptions.
• Draft company profiles, research notes and concise financial analysis summaries, supported by tables, charts and presentations that explain key findings.
• Support company and sector research assignments, respond to routine research requests and work with colleagues to clarify information gaps.
• Follow research and review procedures, distinguish facts from assumptions, meet agreed deadlines and handle confidential information responsibly.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Accounting or a related discipline, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with up to two years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, audit or research.
• ·Foundational understanding of accounting principles and how the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement connect.
• ·Relevant internships, academic projects or progress towards a professional qualification such as ACCA or CFA are an advantage, but not essential.

Skills and Attributes

• ·Comfortable using Microsoft Excel for financial calculations, data organisation and analysis, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
• ·Ability to evaluate source credibility, synthesise information and communicate research findings clearly in written reports and presentations.
• Organised approach to managing tasks, documenting work and meeting deadlines.
• ·Curiosity, sound judgement and willingness to ask questions, learn and respond to feedback.
• Professional integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
